I never paid much attention to this brand until Free & Easy published an article on its history in the last November issue. If I’m understanding this correctly, the company itself once existed in Montana, but closed down long ago – later, a Japanese company called 35summers then picked up the rights to it and recently started to create exact reproductions.
Some of the originals that were made can fetch high prices on the auction market, and 35summers probably saw a good opportunity to own the name itself. (Apparently they’re even popular enough that fakes are being produced, so buyer beware if you’re not purchasing them from a legit source.)
Vests from superdenim.co.uk.
I refuse to buy the RRL replicas, so hopefully some stores in North America will pick these up soon. See more pictures of the FW2009 collection here: Link
