Unless you’re in a Scottish clan, about now until December 25th is the only acceptable time of the year to wear tartan patterned ties. I prefer pairing up these red ones with navy colored jackets, and the darker black watch type plaids with charcoals or grays.
They are all made from flannel cottons, which is why they appear a bit wrinkled.
Perhaps the most famous of all flight jackets?
The Bureau posted a few pictures of items in the Woolrich Woolen Mills SS2010 collection on their blog this weekend and are worth checking out. I had written before that I didn’t care for how the collection was presented at Pitti, but after seeing more of it I think that many of pieces would be great to wear on their own.
The navy Maine guide jacket below will be definite buy for me.

I’ve never quite understood the patchwork fun shirt. Even though designers like Thom Browne and Junya Watanabe will try them on occasion, it is one of those things that you never see outside of a Brooks Brothers catalog. Engineered Garments gave a shot at one this season as well, and in this rare case I would think that we’re lucky that it’s a Japan exclusive only.

The Americana shoe trend couldn’t have come at a better time for Quoddy.
Now in its 100th year, the U.S.-made moccasin company is experiencing a renaissance with its handmade styles (which also include lace-up boots, boat shoes and oxfords, in addition to the classic moc). In fact, the company has recently added several retail accounts and has seen a boost in sales of about 100 percent for the year.
“We’ve had a lot of fortitude to keep going for that many years through thick and thin,” said John Andreliunas, president of the Perry, Maine-based brand.
I just spotted these at Brown’s.
Nice! It’s too bad the cost on Alden’s overseas is exorbitant though.
