Quick Release Belts

Just received in time for autumn: quick release belts from the Worcestershire Leather Company. I was first introduced to these years ago when they were often featured prominently in the early collections from Engineered Garments, and they’re now more commonly sold in Japan under other brand names.

The suede and bridle leathers are fairly strong and among the nicest quality I’ve seen used for heavy duty belts like these (cheap bridle leather in particular is often too stiff and uncomfortable to break in). The unique hardware is also top notch, and the lesser imitations that occasionally show up on second hand markets can’t be compared.

Prices range from £80-85, though you might find one for less on the studio stock sale page.

Industry of All Nations

Industry of All Nations strikes me as an interesting company – still a bit under the radar, it is putting out goods that have been influenced or sourced from communities around the world, building on the idea that the new luxury is in knowing who made your items. The colorful jeans are from India, the belts were sourced from Argentina, the espadrilles were made in Uruguay, and for fall it will be shipping out bit tassel loafers that are made in Buenos Aires and alpaca sweaters that are hand knit in Bolivia.

The Panamericana chairs are also noteworthy, and would fit in well with the interiors of many homes.

Industry of All Nations Faja Belt and Espadrilles
The faja belt and espadrilles – fun, in good taste, and affordable (the way it should be).

The Underappreciated Accessory

Filson’s bridle leather belts are among the best on the market, and at just under $50 each they are some of the most affordable. You can get them in any color you want, so long as it is brown with brass hardware.
