The chelsea jackets are finally back! They haven’t been part of the collections since 2005-2006. Images from Nalu.

I came across this book recently featuring a few homes designed by local architect Tom Kundig. I usually tend to dislike these sorts of books, but this one is actually pretty good.
He’s has been getting lots of press lately on a number of different projects including the Outpost and the 1111 Pike condos.
From nalu.co.jp, here are the shawl collar field shirt jackets in the F/W2009 collection. I’m not sure if any others will be available, but right now I’m thinking about ordering either the indigo on indigo or the dark chambray version. The black canvas version seems to be made from a vintage fabric and is a little bit more expensive than the other two.
I was asked about the mechanical pencil in my last post on the Hill-Side pocket squares – it’s made by Caran d’ache of Switzerland and these particular models are reasonably priced between $10-20. The smaller pencils in the picture below are from a German company called Wörther and can be fun to use at times on stretches.
I had ordered a few Hill-Side pocket squares and handkerchiefs from Context awhile back, but I didn’t really get around to using any of them until today.
While not very soft like a lightweight chambray shirting, the fabric is certainly nice and is well made. Leaving in the selvedge line also adds a nice bit of contrast to the deep colors these were dyed with. If the Hill-Side folks were looking for suggestions for future versions, I would like to see these made without the large sewn-in tags which are a little annoying (which I’ll be taking out with a seam ripper soon enough). Adding in hand rolled edges could also be an interesting touch as well.
I’ve heard that stores will be getting more in soon, so be sure to check in with your local stockist.
Another Yuketen post. Oi Polloi has a few pictures of some of the boots that will be available in the F/W2009 collection: http://www.flickr.com/photos/38359928@N08/sets/72157620859359054/
I’m not sure if these are the goodyear welted versions that will supposedly be available.
Here are the first of the shirts in Engineered Garments F/W2009 collection. There should be more available later on in different fabrics and another style or two (mainly the western shirts). All pictures are from nalu.co.jp.

Yuketen recently updated their website with their S/S2009 collection: http://www.yuketen.com/. Be sure to visit them if you’re attending the Capsule NYC show over the next few days.
I extracted the images below for easier viewing. Read on to see more. Read more
It looks like the Engineered Garments F/W2009 collection is starting to ship out to stores, so check in with your local stockists to see what they might be receiving. I will try to keep up with who’s getting what as I learn more.

There are some nice outfits in this film, which I didn’t really notice until I watched it again yesterday.
Grey tweed jacket, a cream colored cardigan, white button down collar shirt, and a narrow black tie. I like the roll on the lapels of the jacket as well.
