J.Crew just added a number of new items for fall to their online store. Most notable are the sweaters and outerwear pieces, including this Mister Freedom denim peacoat.

The new Langham jacket, which looks like a bit of design mix between a barn jacket and hunting coat.

A red racer jacket, which was shown in some released press materials earlier this year.  I like the design, but I would have changed it a bit by making it slightly longer and adding a belt to the waist area (similar to traditional riding jackets from Barbour and Belstaff).  Edit: Turns out that it does come with a belt, it’s just not shown well in the pictures.

This hunting inspired sportcoat has potential, but sometimes J.Crew’s corduroy jackets are hit and miss quality wise.

I know that reproduction purists will shake their heads, but I might just pick up this new flight jacket if it fits well.  You can buy custom made A-2 jackets from a number of small companies that specialize in these for the same price that J.Crew is selling them for, but you also have to deal with the hassle of getting measurements correct.  Sometimes peace of mind is worth the cost.

A few of the new sweaters: a double breasted naval inspired sweater, and several shawl collar knits in cashmere.

Apparently J.Crew is also now selling some Belstaff bags.  I’ve never been a big fan of these, mostly due to the pocket/strap overload.

The new custom Rogues Gallery tshirts are available online too. I’ll admit that I don’t like these either, but at least they’re not selling them at $100 a pop…
