In preparing for Christmas tree hunting this next weekend, I ordered a pair of new work gloves to replace the ones I lost somewhere along the banks of the Skykomish river and they arrived last night. Instead of going with Filson again, I decided to try out ones made by locally by the Geier Glove Company in Centralia Washington.

This particular pair is made from elkskin leather, which is both sturdy and pliable and it’s been dyed yellow like traditional work gloves. The insides are unlined, but it wouldn’t have made much of a point as the sueded texture of the leather feels great on the hands.

This old style hang tag that came with them is great, just as if I bought some dead stock from decades ago. “Western Made for Western Trade”

The made in USA tag helps as well. :)
