Barbour has a new range of slim fit shirts this season under their Heritage collection, and some with interesting details that seem to be inspired by old riding gear and Mod clothing. With the help of my local stockist, I was able to special order one the Portugal made “Marylebone” shirts in a black/grey gingham fabric which features a slanted chest pocket.

The button down collar is shorter than on most, and the buttons are hidden underneath.

More sharp detailing and a shot of the angled pocket. The buttons are all metal, and no, I didn’t feel like ironing it before taking these pictures.

Instead of a regular button, a snap was used on the back of the collar.

And maybe the most polarizing detail – the shirt comes with a darted back. This was not done to slim it, but instead looks like it is supposed to add a visual effect. The back does also not have any side or box pleats.

Overall, it’s a great shirt and I hope to pick up another one or two next year if they continue with the same style.
