Victim has also just started to update their website with their Spring/Summer 2010 line and it’s really just a continuation of what they already do well: basic military and workwear inspired goods. The two standouts are the vintage denim overalls and the military watch, and they’re also including Paraboot made boatshoes.

After decades of neglect, there has been a resurgence of interest in taxidermy. Once seen as being inappropriate and politically incorrect, they’re now seen as avant-garde in the art and interior design worlds.
Breaking them out for New Years!
In a recent sale on Gilt I was able to order several different pairs of gloves from Portolano, an old Italian company that produces them for private labels and designers. While they’re not the best ones I have seen, I’m impressed with the quality and the leathers are much nicer than those used for the typical cheap gloves found in stores these days. The stitching appears to be all done by machine, and there are no discernible differences between gloves made in their Italian factory and the one in the Philippines.
Now I kind of want a pair of these gold colored gloves at Blackbird.

J.Crew has just updated its website with new items for spring, and I’m sure more will be showing up soon. Along with some of the great looking shirts and pants, there are also new Quoddy ring boots, a distressed Mister Freedom military webbing belt, and another Superior Labor tote.
The tote, which I just ordered, was something that I had been waiting on after seeing it on Secret Forts months ago – the original model name on the Japanese sites is called “Tote Bag of the Man” and you can see more of it on Utility CoOp. I’ve been very happy with my 2way Engineer Bag, so I have high hopes for this one as well.
Expect more pictures and a review once it arrives!

Gfeller Casemakers is a small company based out of Idaho that specializes in making leather goods for scientists who are frequently out in the field and I’m a big fan of their belt cases and utility tote. See more of their products here: http://www.gfellercasemakers.com/geoscience.html
