Knicker Shorts Revisited

Against my better judgment, I ended up ordering another pair of knicker shorts this season. I’ve come to prefer them when up in mountains as they allow for more freedom of movement and plus they flat out look cool.

Vintage Engineered Garments Parka

Rakuten and Yahoo Auctions Japan can turn up some real gems on occasion if you watch them long enough. Like this for example: a vintage Engineered Garments parka/fishing smock. It’s always fun to see these earlier pieces show up as it was very difficult to find this stuff back then (North America distribution for Engineered Garments did not really pick up until 2007/2008).

Stuart & Wright’s New Webstore

Stuart & Wright, a favorite Brooklyn retailer of mine, just opened up a new webstore that is worth checking out – brands carried include Engineered Garments, Acne, and Band of Outsiders. Their previous arrangement with Refinery29 wasn’t the greatest experience for online customers, so I’m glad to see them running their own site now.

Sweats from Engineered Garments

New fleece sweatshirts and sweatpants are now in at Oi Polloi. There are other versions available this season in a small diamond pattern as well.

Engineered Garments and Woolrich Woolen Mills Roundup

For those of you who happen to be in Osaka, the Nepenthes store is hosting an “Engineered Garments Special Week” [more info on Honeyee] and they’ll also be showing off the new Engineered Garments x Mark McNairy shoe line. The tall wingtip boots that I’m interested in will be priced at 68,250¥ (which is not too bad…).

And here’s a recap of stores with an online presence that have received SS10 goods in from Engineered Garments and Woolrich Woolen Mills. It can get difficult to keep tabs on all of this, so I hope this will help you in tracking down a certain piece that you’ve been looking for.

There are a few that I’m missing, but I’ll update this post later.  Note that I regularly post new things as they show up online on my twitter account.

The Gray Gents

In the March issue of Huge magazine there was a very nice spread done with the Engineered Garments Spring/Summer 2010 collection shot somewhere out on a New England beach. The photography was done by Adrian Gaut, and the styling was chosen by Daiki Suzuki.

Engineered Garments Sterling Silver Belt Buckle

This pricey new belt from Engineered Garments showed up on Starling’s website today. While it looks very plain as far as belts go, it’s interesting that the buckle and hardware are made from sterling silver (notice the 925 mark). Is this a sign that we’ll start to see more upscale/luxury pieces from Engineered Garments in upcoming seasons? The NYTimes Style Magazine had previously reported that we can expect leather jackets from them later this year as well.

Now with that said, is anyone carrying these here in the U.S.? :)
